Southwest Airlines says it has successfully tested its first flight tracking system in the UAE.
The company says it is flying to Dubai to test the tracking technology for the first time.
It is the latest in a series of efforts by Southwest to get the first flights in the Middle East into the hands of passengers.
The first flight is scheduled to take off on Friday.
