The search giant has announced it will start offering flights to US airports starting August 16, as part of a major push to make the world a safer place.
FlightSearch.com has been around for a couple of years, and it has been used by airlines around the world to find and book travel for travelers, but it has also been used to launch fake online travel agents.
For the first time, the search giant is offering flights for domestic flights, which it says is a significant improvement on the previous approach.
“The changes are important for us, especially given the rising number of domestic flights,” Google’s general manager for flight search, David Marder, said in a statement.
The new service is available in the US for domestic and international flights, and in Canada and the UK for the same, and the flights will be priced according to the distance and type of flight you want.
Google also launched a new flight search app that will let you see what airlines are flying to your location, but Mardar said the company is still working on integrating that functionality into its FlightSearch.
He added that the company would likely expand its service to other countries in the near future, but that it’s “not likely” that it would launch a new service for other destinations in the next six months.
Airports, hotels, and other destinations will be able to book flights directly through Google’s app, and users will be required to pay for flights through Google Wallet.
There will be some restrictions, including that only the airlines and hotels you book through the app will be listed, and Google will only show flights booked through Google Maps or through other Google products.
Mardar also said that the service will only work with flights to and from the US.
Airlines are already starting to use Google Maps as a search engine to find flights to or from destinations, and there’s no doubt that Google is doing its part to make flying safer for travelers.
The company is already offering its own search engine, Flightradar24, which is able to display flight information from a variety of sources including airlines, hotels and other travel agents, along with a live map that shows the flight route, time, and departure location.
But Marders claims that Google will continue to develop its own flight search service in the future, adding that “we have the capability to build it as a service that is available to any person on the planet.”
