A plane from Austin, Texas to the Austin International Airport in Texas will be grounded in Austin Wednesday due to the heat, airport officials said.
The flight will land at the airport’s airport parking lot at 11 a.m. and take about 40 minutes to arrive, according to airport officials.
Aircraft will be inspected, but will be returned to the carrier’s maintenance facility.
The carrier is trying to mitigate the heat by installing solar panels in the cabin, airport spokesman Tom Davis said.
Airport spokeswoman Lisa Jones said the company is working with airport officials to ensure that all flights are rerouted as normal.
