Posted July 03, 2019 07:01:18You may have noticed something unusual with your flight, or a little bit of extra attention from your seatmates.
But what if you’re not the first person on board?
Flight scanners are now a thing of the past, thanks to a new invention.
And for passengers who aren’t ready to travel yet, the answer is simple.
There are no more seatmates at your destination.
Instead, the plane’s pilots will monitor your location, track your flight and, if necessary, even call the police.
“You have an airline that’s doing everything possible to be as transparent as possible with you,” says Stephen Cairns, the flight operations manager at Cathay Pacific.
The technology has been around for a while, but the latest update from the FAA is more significant than ever, he says.
“The FAA is pushing the envelope on this technology and, while it may not be available to everyone yet, it does mean that we are getting closer and closer to the future of seat-free travel,” CairNS says.
As long as you’re a citizen of the world, there are no seats to buy.
“Cairns says the FAA will soon roll out a new set of restrictions on flights in and out of the United States.
He says passengers who are flying on an American Airlines flight, which flies between Washington and Boston, can expect to face more questions than usual.”
I would say that if you are flying in the US, you should definitely be aware of these new restrictions,” he says, adding that the company will not allow its customers to use its flights.”
We have to be very careful about our compliance with the FAA and other regulatory bodies, so that if we have a problem, we can fix it as quickly as possible,” Cairs says.
However, the new rules are also good news for passengers in Asia, he adds.”
It will be very difficult for the airlines to introduce these new regulations without the approval of the airlines themselves,” Cares says.
While there are some airlines, such as Alaska Airlines, which still allow customers to purchase seats, those rules will now apply to all other airlines.
Cathay has set up a website that will allow people to register their seats.
